Ilkley Feels the Spirit!

This amazing event showcased the wonderful opportunities Ilkley has for choral singing and a fabulous time was had by all.  It was great to hear a sample of the varied repertoires that these three choirs perform on a regular basis giving the audiences of Ilkley something to suit every musical taste.  From the beautiful nostalgia of the 80s hit, 'Life in a Northern Town' as performed by Moornotes, through Cantores Olicanae's intimate rendition of Billy Joel's 'And So it Goes' to the dazzling extract from Haydn's Creation given by Ilkley Choral Society and featuring the three conductors as soloists.

The second half of the concert was given over to the audience to particiate in a singing workshop culminating in joining the choirs in an extract from John Rutter's 'Can you Feel the Spirit?'

This concert was greatly enjoyed and thanks should be recorded to all three conductors, the representatives of each choir who worked together over many months to bring this event about and Ilkley Town Council for their generous sponsorship.   A lot of work was put in by many which was was well worth it.
